Our History

Established with its cornerstone laid in 1949 and a dedication in 1951, Abraham Lincoln High School has a rich history as a cornerstone of the Northeast Philadelphia community. Originally intended to be named Mayfair High School, the institution was ultimately dedicated to the 16th U.S. President, Abraham Lincoln, setting the stage for decades of educational excellence.

Today, Lincoln High School continues its legacy in a modern campus that opened in 2009. We offer a comprehensive and diverse curriculum, including dual enrollment programs with multiple universities and robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Beyond academics, our students excel in nationally ranked student organizations and have a proud tradition of athletic success, including numerous city championships. We are committed to empowering every student to achieve their full potential. Click the button for more history of our school.
