Dear Abraham Lincoln High School Parents and Guardians:

I want to welcome you back for a new school year! I hope that you and your children had a relaxing summer and are ready to begin a new year of growth and learning. This year we begin school on September 5th, 2017. On the first day of school, your child should be ready for school in their uniform (black or yellow collar school shirts, with black pants and shoes, sneakers, boots, but NO!!! hoodies and No!!! open toes sandals or flip-flops.

Your child should be ready with their school supplies and on time for 180 days of school. Bi-monthly, there will be a newsletter that will come home with your child.  Each month the school calendar will be updated with important dates. This year you will again be receiving automated messages from School Messenger. Do not hang up on these messages, they contain information that involves any of the following: a last minute schedule change, an emergency closing or a reminder of upcoming events. On a weekly basis, you should check your child’s grades and assignments on school net. You can also sign up as a parent on the School District of Philadelphia website under Parent Link.

The school day begins promptly at 7:51 am and ends at 2:55 pm. On early dismissal days, the school day ends at 11:55 am. It is important for your children to arrive on time. Lateness is not tolerated by Lincoln High School, and as per the School Code of Conduct, your children could be made to serve detentions and/or miss out on school activities. Visitors must sign in at the front desk and receive a visitor’s badge and proceed to the office.

As always, I look forward to a great year for all of my Abraham Lincoln High School students.
